TypeStar is a free browser game. It has no accounts, no newsletter and no advertising. This notice explains the very small amount of information the game touches, and why.
Who is responsible

What we do not collect
We do not ask for, store or share any personal information. In particular:
- There is no sign-up, login or account of any kind.
- We set no cookies of our own and use no analytics, trackers or advertising pixels.
- There is no server-side storage of your game or scores. Scores, combos and results stay in your browser for the session only.
- Your game preferences (difficulty and sync offset) are kept in your browser’s local storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.
What the server stores
- When a track is played, the server fetches the video’s captions from YouTube and saves the timing data — the words and when they occur — so that later plays load instantly. This is public information about the song, not about you.
- The video id you choose is part of the request, so the usual technical details of that request are handled by our host, Cloudflare, as described below.
Third parties
- Cloudflare hosts the site, runs the track service and caches track data.
- YouTube supplies the music and visuals. When a game is played, the video is embedded from YouTube, so YouTube (Google) may set cookies and see your IP address and the standard technical details of the request, under its own privacy policy. No YouTube data is requested to browse the rest of the site.
